The book ‘Johar Gandhi’, focusing on the native freedom fighters of Chhattisgarh state and Mahatma Gandhi’s visits and influence in Chhattisgarh, will be released on 2nd October Gandhi Jayanti Diwas at Vrindavan Hall, Civil Line, Raipur. Gandhian thinkers from Delhi, families of freedom fighters of Chhattisgarh, Cabinet ministers of Chhattisgarh Govt. and opposition leaders will also attend the event. The book will be released after peace prayer with hymns written by Bapu, and cultural programs.
The Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi visited Chhattisgarh in 1920 and 1933 during the Indian independence movement. This will be the first book of its kind in which the entire history of this journey and the entire freedom struggle of Chhattisgarh, i.e. from 1774 to 1947, has been presented in a timely manner which focuses on the freedom fighters of Chhattisgarh origin, The role of women freedom fighters has also been talked about in this book.

National Film Award awardee Amir Hashmi toured every nook and corner of the state of Chhattisgarh for about three years in which he went door-to-door to the freedom fighters and interviewed their families and looked at the official books and articles available in libraries across the country. Researched through the medium and started a documentary, as well as started writing it which is now going to be presented in the form of a book.
