Earth – the Lost World

Idly surfing the net yesterday, I came across this series of extraordinary photos that had me staring in utter disbelief at first, then fascination, some shock, and absolute amazement. They totally spooked me. Were they for real? Or was this a brilliant Photoshop job by some creative special effects genius? I went on the Facebook page that posted them next, and I’m still left wondering.

Home Planet Earth, that page, provides information concerning digital media and humanity, innovations that help environmental issues and the latest technical news. But strangely, there is zero knowledge on these breathtaking images. They are as creepy as they are spectacular without the stories behind them. Party beauty and wonder and sadly unpleasant. Earth reclaiming itself.

Why were these vessels and vehicles deserted? Where did the people from them go? I mean, trains in the middle of nowhere, ships in a desert, a vintage car at a ghostly petrol pump, the double decker bus in an eerie forest. Pictures of metal rusting and deteriorating while wood regrows and renews. Like a Sci-fi movie posters. A parallel world where I don’t want to go. From Earth we come and to Earth we shall return, truly.
